Spider Mums in Bondage

Spotted on College Ave.

Happy Earth Day

These are Berkeley lawn mowers. Sighted from the Berkeley off-ramp, it gave me quite a start. I couldn't smell them from the car but I'm not sure their perfume is much better than the smell of a gas mower. It's a really steep hill which would be hard to mow. I tried to park but there wasn't any place to pull over so I just stopped in the middle of the frontage road. I mean, wouldn't you?

Cargo Cats

Last week I had to take the cats in for their annual shots. I was a nervous wreck because the last time I took Tiger in, he metamorphed into a scratching, clawing machine. I knew I had to get them into their carriers but worried that they would hide or fight me.
No worries. They each went gently into their carriers, I juggled them into the car and into the office. Dr. March is so gentle and nice that they both let her do anything she wanted without even a flick of the ear. Al has been doing this weird thing where his back gets all twitchy and he attcks his tail but not in that cute kitten way. I think he's going insane.

What the Hail?

Tuesday
It's just pea-sized but it's disconcerting to experience hail when you can see blue skies a block away.
I was hoping to take some pictures of the pretty clouds until they hurled their wrath at me with icy pellets.
I took a quick trip up to Dinosaur Park and navigated through the students dealing drugs in the parking lot to capture the clouds.
The wild flowers are still so pretty.Soon the rain will cease and the hills will be brown and sad.

It's Raining, It's Pouring

So, where have I been? Outside, turning this weed filled space into a garden. Well, it's getting there. I pulled a lot of weeds with some help from Al. Tiger is not into being outdoors. The sun is bad for his complexion. There are a lot of worms which I know is good but is also gross.
But the rain has returned - no drought this year, over 100% of "normal" rainfall.
And I am back inside.

Happy Easter!

I am out of control. I spent about 12 hours making this Peter Cottentail picture. I spent most of the time cleaning it up and then filled each block of color with my own photos.
I like it a lot. But laundry doesn't do itself.
